BZI is recruiting for Junior Estimator in Structural Steel to complement our Bidding Group Team.
As structural steel Junior Estimator, you will assists in preparing accurate cost estimates for structural steel projects under the guidance of lead estimators. This involves analyzing project plans, taking off quantities, and inputting data that quantifies the material and labor costs to assist in developing cost proposals. The estimator may also participate in the bidding process and contribute to the development of project budgets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Quantity Takeoffs: Accurately measure and calculate the quantities of steel required for a project based on blueprints and specifications.
- Bid Support: Assist lead estimators in preparing bids and proposals for potential projects.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all cost data and project information.
Basic Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
- Basic understanding of computer skills.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word) is considered beneficial.
- Effective communication and organizational skills.
Beneficial skills:
- Estimating software experience (e.g., Bluebeam, Tekla Powerfab).
- Knowledge of steel fabrication and erection processes.
- Basic understanding of structural steel design and construction principles.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering plans.
The ideal candidate has good interpersonal, communication, and written skills and excels in team environment managing completing priorities.
