Job Summary:

As a Budget Manager, you will play a vital role in the financial health of our area of operation by overseeing the planning, monitoring, and reporting of budgets. Your expertise will contribute to effective financial decisions and strategic planning, ensuring that all financial resources are allocated efficiently and align with our organizational goals. You will collaborate closely with department heads to provide guidance on budgetary issues, analyze financial data, and report on budget performance. The role requires a deep understanding of finance, accounting principles, and budgeting processes. You will also be responsible for developing and implementing budgetary policies and procedures that comply with regulatory requirements and industry best practices. As a Budget Manager, you will provide training and support to staff involved in budget preparation and management, fostering a culture of accountability and financial stewardship.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the budget in alignment with strategic objectives
  • Manage change orders
  • Analyze and report on budget performance, identifying variances and providing recommendations for corrective actions
  • Collaborate with department heads to prepare departmental budgets and financial forecasts
  • Monitor departmental expenditures and assist in ensuring compliance with budgetary guidelines
  • Prepare regular financial reports for senior management and stakeholders, summarizing budgetary performance and trends
  • Provide training and support for departmental staff involved in the budget preparation and management process
  • All other duties as assigned

Preferred Skills and Training

  • Bachelor's or master’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field
  • Proven experience as a budget manager or in a similar financial management role
  • Strong knowledge of budgeting processes, financial regulations, and laws governing public and private sector budgets
  • Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and translate it into actionable insights
  • Proficiency in financial software and budgeting tools, as well as advanced Excel skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities and a strong commitment to ethical financial practices

Position Location: This position will be stationed in Cedar City, Utah. Some travel will be required.

Salary Range:  Depends on experience.
