Job Summary:

As a Project Accountant, you will work closely with project management and financial teams to ensure completion of projects within budgeted cost and time. Your expertise in accounting practices will be essential to provide insightful analysis that drives project efficiency and profitability. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of construction accounting principles, including job costing, contract administration, and progress billing. You will play a pivotal role in financial forecasting and variance analysis, helping to maintain the financial health of our projects. Additionally, you will be expected to assist in the preparation of financial statements and audits, ensuring all financial records are maintained to the highest standards.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • All roles and responsibilities will be performed for PAs assigned projects
  • PA is a liaison between Project Management Team and BZI Group Financial Team
  • Assist Project Manager (PM) in setting up initial budgets in Procore
  • Assist PM in updating budgets to keep cost to complete up to date
  • Generate project specific financial reports per request
  • Manage Procore Financial Management accuracy
  • Manage NetSuite & Bill.com job specific accuracy
  • Assist PM in Schedule of Values) SOV setup, payment applications, cost & revenue forecasting, and retention tracking
  • Assist AP and AR with financial status, accuracy, and closeout
  • Assist PM in keeping Procore data that is used for analytics updated
  • Manage the Prelien and the process for maintaining lien rights
  • Assist in managing Customer required lien waivers
  • Manage Sub Tier lien waiver process
  • All other duties as assigned

Expectations:

  • Expected to collaborate closely with the PM teams to assure their role is executed effectively on their projects
  • Communicate with PM/PX (Project Executive) in person or on Teams calls when setting up the projects, during monthly during billing cycles, or as often as needed
  • Attend PX team meetings to address any financial related concerns
  • Posess mathematical and analytical comprehension in construction financial accounting
  • Know and communicate the project financial information to AR and AP as needed
  • Support PMs in financial management, but to not assume project financial responsibility form the PMs

Preferred Education and Experience: Bachelor of Science in Construction Management or equivalent Construction Management Experience.

Position Location: This position will be stationed at BZI Home Office in Kanarraville, Utah. Some travel will be required.

Salary Range:  Depends on experience.
